Aughrim Village bat walk
We had a beautiful balmy evening for our bat walk in Aughrim on the 17th September. Leisler's bats kicked the night off for us, flying in the open sky over the village.
We had wonderful views of Common and Soprano Pipistrelle bats hunting around the trees, and were treated to fabulous views of Daubenton's bats hunting over the NDAF Fishing for All Lake. It was great to see such rich habitat in the village for our nocturnal neighbours.
Thanks to everyone who came and joined us, young and old, from Aughrim Tidy Towns, Aughrim Angling Club, Aughrim Community Sports and Leisure Association, Aughrim GAA and Soccer Clubs and young students from the Aughrim National School.
