Birdwatching Walk on the River Vartry

  • Vartry Reservoir Wicklow (map)

Join us for a peaceful evening of discovery!

Whether you are a seasoned birder or just curious about the local wildlife, we invite you to join us for a bird-watching walk along the banks of the River Vartry. We will be exploring the unique habitat of the river, observing the diverse species that call this area home, and learning tips on how to identify them in the wild.

This walk will explore the birdlife of the Vartry River and Reservoir lead by Dr. Stephen Newton and Anne Newton. Birds likely to be encountered include Grey Heron, Little Grebe, Moorhen and maybe, if we are lucky, Kingfisher, Dipper and Grey Wagtail.
