Things That Go Bump in the Night: Newtownmountkennedy Bat Walk & Talk
As darkness falls, we’ll explore the Newtownmountkennedy Stream and the new linear park, looking and listening for the bats that make these habitats their home. Learn more about these fascinating nocturnal mammals, how they use echolocation to navigate and hunt, and the important role they play in our local environment.
The walk will be led by Faith Wilson of East Wicklow Rivers Trust and is a great opportunity to discover the wildlife that becomes active after dark and to see Newtownmountkennedy from a different perspective.
The event is supported by the Newtownmountkennedy Natural Environment and Biodiversity Town Team and Newtownmountkennedy Tidy Towns, as part of the community’s commitment to its Community Biodiversity Action Plan.
